Inspired by the classic Nigerian pies many of us grew up loving — especially the unforgettable Mr. Biggs era — we set out to honour that nostalgia while elevating it. Better pastry. Fuller fillings. Deeper flavour. No shortcuts.
Our journey started years ago in the kitchen, when a simple crème caramel lesson from a beloved aunt sparked a lifelong love for baking. That curiosity turned into relentless experimentation — refining recipes, adjusting textures, and testing until every bite delivered the perfect balance of flake and flavour.
We tested our pies fresh. We tested them frozen for months. And we made sure they baked up beautifully every time — because quality should never depend on when you eat it.
Today, we offer Nigerian-inspired beef, chicken, and vegetarian pies — handcrafted, generously filled, and designed to be enjoyed hot and fresh whenever the craving hits.
But this is bigger than a pie.
Salted Sweets is on a mission to upgrade the pie game in Toronto — and beyond. We’re building a brand rooted in culture, quality, and consistency, with a vision of making bold, flavour-packed savoury pies accessible across the city and eventually across the country.
